How the beads are made

A dedicated manufacturing process developed over a few days. The process evolves from a shapeless piece of clay… The clay is hand shaped to create clay beads which are left to dry for a day or so depending on the weather conditions. Once dry the beads are fired for the first time which takes approximately 10 hours and the clay beads have transformed into terracotta beads.

The glazes are now prepared for the next stage. Glazing entails immersing the beads into a stunning kaleidoscope of colorful glass- based glazes and raising them so they can dry for a few seconds.
Beads are glazed one by one in the different colours available. The glazed beads are then carefully strung on a special heat – resistant wire one by one. The kiln is then accurately loaded and fired and a further 10 hours later, the beads are ready for the final stage: they are now assembled by hand with sterling silver or colorful waxed strings. The result of this artisan craft and labour is a unique piece of jewellery for you to wear and treasure transforming an every day look into something spectacular and individual.
